Fall 2015 High Performance Camps

The Canadian Baseball Strength and Conditioning Academy is offering 10 week off season training camps starting October 13th. These camps are available 1-3 times per week and will take you up to Christmas break. This is small group training with like minded, goal orientated baseball players who are looking to take their game to the next level.

In the heart of the off-season baseball skill training is at its lowest. This is an important time to develop physical attributes that will promote success and health in the game. The strain of a long season of baseball can create many imbalances in the body. Overtime (multiple seasons) this can lead to a higher risk of injury.

A collaborative strength and conditioning program is much more then lifting weights. Developing a variety of physical attributes will ultimately transition to increased health and performance on the field. In the game of baseball certain key factors are necessary. This program will focus on lower body strength and power, anterior core and scapular stability, posterior chain and rotator cuff strength, hip and thoracic spine mobility, and promote recovery of bilateral imbalances created in season.

Players will learn essential movement patterns in the weight room that will ultimately transition to better movement patterns on the field. This program is specific to each individual athlete, as a screening process will take place prior to the start of the training program. The outcome of the screens, combined with the player’s training age, position, and body type will dictate the program for each individual athlete.

Training programs are comprehensive and will include:

  • Functional movement screens for each athlete

  • Individualized activation and mobility drills

  • Individualized Strength training programs

  • Baseball specific shoulder and cuff stability and strengthening

  • Rotational athlete specific core programming

  • Position specific conditioning

  • Each athlete will receive a Strength and Conditioning Manual

  • Much much more!

The goal of this program is to have all athletes start next season, taking the field healthy and in top physical condition. We will develop competitors with the will to win, and educate our athletes with what it takes to take their game to the next level.
