Our training will include periodized plans, proper nutritional guidelines, mobility/corrective routines, and recovery guidelines, with the primary emphasis focused on maximizing athletic development and producing elite, healthy athletes across all sports. In order to maximize the physical and mental toughness potential of every team and player, our coaches will provide athletes with the best motivational, on and off site strength and conditioning programs in the country. Our goal is to have each and every player take the field healthy and in top physical condition with great effort and the competitive will to win every time they train, practice, and compete. In all areas of athletic development, from the grass roots level to professional athletes, we are committed to the principles of character, ethical conduct, integrity and excellence.
STANDARDS
We at the CBSCA believe that all athletes, no matter their level of play deserve the same coaching standards as those players at the professional level. It is for that reason we have set out to create a program, distinct from any other in the country, that will allow Canadian athletes access to strength and conditioning coaches who hold themselves to those standards set forth by both professional organizations and the NCAA.
NCAA Acknowledges NSCA’s Effort for Raised Certification Standards
On April 24, 2014, the NCAA passed legislation requiring Division 1 colleges and universities to employ strength and conditioning coaches who possess a nationally accredited strength and conditioning certification beginning August 1, 2015.
In 2012, MLB implimented a policy that stated:
“Beginning on April 1, 2012, all individuals who hold the position of Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, or Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coach at either the Triple-A or Double-A level, must be registered with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (“NSCA”) as a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach, or shall become registered within 120 days.”
The Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) designation, administered exclusively by the NSCA, recognizes strength and conditioning coaches who demonstrate significant applied experience beyond certification. The RSCC program was developed to establish an industry standard for education, certification, active coaching involvement, and continuing education amongst professional, collegiate and high school strength coaches.
